HERA is a Korean beauty brand from the Amorepacific group, the Korean beauty giant that also owns Sulwhasoo, Laneige and IOPE. It launched in 1995. Many people search for it as HERA Beauty or HERA cosmetics, but it's all the same brand, and HERA makeup is what it's best known for. HERA describes itself as "Contemporary Seoul Beauty", a modern take on beauty born in Seoul. Its motto, "Here, Now, Myself", sums up the idea: feel like yourself, here and now. To bring this vision to life, HERA created the Seoulista, a proactive Seoul woman who is open to every possibility and invents her own kind of elegance. Beyond Korea, HERA has grown across Asia. HERA is a complexion brand first. Its icon is the Black Cushion, a cushion in a sleek black compact launched in 2017. In February 2024, it passed ten million units sold, a rare milestone for a single makeup product. The brand has reworked it several times for a thinner, lighter finish, then added a powder version, the Black Cushion Mesh Powder, which according to the brand combines the benefits of a primer, a foundation and a powder in one mesh cushion compact.
