EPAIS: frequently asked questions

What is EPAIS?

EPAIS (에이페) is a Korean scalp and hair care brand owned by Adapt Inc., a Seoul company. EPAIS makes scalp ampoules and a scalp tonic, shampoos, leave-in treatments, lash serums and a brow cream. You'll find our edit in the EPAIS collection.

Is EPAIS a Korean brand?

Yes. EPAIS is a South Korean brand owned by Adapt Inc. (주식회사 어댑트), based in Gangnam, Seoul, and led by CEO Park Jeong-ha. In Korea, EPAIS sells through its own online store and Olive Young; in the US, the brand has been on TikTok Shop since June 2025.

What is the EPAIS Scalp Boosting Ampoule EX?

It's the EPAIS hero product: a scalp ampoule in a tube topped with a brush that both applies and massages. The formula combines BiomePDRN™, caffeine and ferments. According to the brand, the Scalp Boosting Ampoule has passed 500,000 units sold; the Scalp Boosting Ampoule EX is the version on its website.

How do you use the EPAIS Scalp Boosting Ampoule EX?

Twist the brush head to ON, squeeze a little product onto your scalp, then massage it in with the brush. EPAIS recommends using it after shampooing on towel-dried hair, but it also works on dry hair. Start with a small amount and adjust from there.

Is the EPAIS lash serum worth it?

The EPAIS Eyelash Essential Serum is a clear serum that conditions your lashes. It blends peptides, biotin, panthenol and plant extracts, including centella asiatica. Brush it on from root to tip, let it dry, then add a second layer if you like. Check the ingredient list if your eyes are sensitive.

EPAIS Essential vs Black lash serum: what's the difference?

Both EPAIS serums go on the same way. The Eyelash Essential Serum is clear and layers easily under mascara. The Eyelash Black Serum has a touch of black pigment, so it defines your lashes a little, like a very natural mascara, while it conditions them.

Which EPAIS shampoo should you choose?

EPAIS designed its two shampoos as a duo. The Caffeine Morning Water Shampoo uses caffeine and a water-light texture for a fresh morning feel. The PDRN Night Volume Shampoo uses PDRN to wash away the day's oil at night and leave roots lighter. For no-wash days, there's the Air Gel Dry Shampoo.

Does EPAIS help with hair loss?

EPAIS makes cosmetics. Its ampoules and tonic help keep your scalp clean, fresh and hydrated. They are not medicines. If you're losing a lot of hair, talk to a doctor or dermatologist. Cosmetic advice, not medical advice.

Which EPAIS leave-in is best for damaged hair?

EPAIS has two leave-in treatments. The Peptide Bonding No-Wash Treatment is a peptide cream-in-mist you spray onto towel-dried hair. The Repair Leave-in Treatment, with a slightly acidic pH, is combed through with its brush applicator. For frizz, add the Frizz Silky Smoothing Hair Mist.

How does the EPAIS Hair Clinic Treatment Booster work?

The Hair Clinic Treatment Booster is the EPAIS rechargeable device for damaged hair. Apply your leave-in to clean, towel-dried hair first, then glide the device section by section from mid-lengths to ends. It also comes as the Hair Clinic Treatment Booster & Peptide No-Wash Treatment Set.

Where can you buy EPAIS in Europe?

Who is EPAIS?

EPAIS (에이페 in Korean) is a Korean scalp and hair care brand. It's owned by Adapt Inc. (주식회사 어댑트), a company based in Gangnam, Seoul, and led by CEO Park Jeong-ha. Adapt describes itself as a direct-to-consumer media commerce company: it sells online and builds its own content around its brands.

EPAIS makes shampoos, tonics and treatments for your scalp and lengths, plus lash serums and a brow cream. In Korea, EPAIS sells through its own online store and at Olive Young. Since June 2025, it has also been on TikTok Shop in the US.

Ranges and ingredients: from the EPAIS Scalp Boosting Ampoule to lash serums

The Scalp range covers everything for the scalp. The Scalp Boosting Ampoule EX pairs BiomePDRN™ with caffeine, biotin and ferments in a tube topped with a brush. The Scalp Intensive Ampoule, a 15 ml roll-on, brings caffeine and a cooling feel. The Blue Peptide Scalp Tonic combines peptides, caffeine and panthenol in a fast-absorbing tonic.

The Morning & Night duo matches your wash to the time of day: the Caffeine Morning Water Shampoo with caffeine for mornings and the PDRN Night Volume Shampoo with PDRN for evenings. For your lengths, the Peptide Bonding No-Wash Treatment uses peptides similar to hair keratin, while the Repair Leave-in Treatment relies on proteins, keratin and argan oil.

Finally, the Eyelash range brings together two lash serums with peptides, biotin and panthenol. The Eyebrow Rich Cream Plus brings the same idea to your brows.

How to choose for your scalp and hair

EPAIS products are cosmetics: if you notice heavy hair shedding or an irritated scalp, see a doctor. Cosmetic advice, not medical advice.

To compare with other Korean brands, browse our hair care, shampoos, body and hair and eye makeup picks, or discover UNOVE, LADOR and AROMATICA.

What makes EPAIS different

EPAIS cares about the gesture as much as the formula. Every scalp product has its own applicator: a built-in brush for the hero ampoule, a roll-on for the pocket ampoule, a slim nozzle for the tonic. You apply the product straight onto your scalp, section by section, without coating your fingers, and massage at the same time.

The look is clean and minimal: silver bottles and tubes with the brand name running vertically. Textures stay light and fresh, made for daily use without weighing down your roots. The brand also looks after your lengths, with protein and peptide leave-in treatments and a home-use hair care device.
