DR.MELAXIN: frequently asked questions

What is Dr.Melaxin?

Dr.Melaxin is a Korean derma skincare brand owned by Brand501, a Seoul company led by Yoo Kyung-hwa. Dr.Melaxin says it takes inspiration from vaccines and follows a slow-aging approach, with one range per skin concern: Peel Shot exfoliators, calcium care, tranexamic acid, pores and the eye area.

Is Dr.Melaxin Korean? Do Koreans use it?

Yes. Dr.Melaxin is a South Korean brand, run by Brand501 in Seoul and sold in Korea through its own online store. Dr.Melaxin then took off on TikTok Shop in the US and the UK and is now stocked at Boots and Ulta. You'll find our edit in the Dr.Melaxin collection.

Does Dr.Melaxin really work?

Dr.Melaxin is cosmetic skincare, so results depend on your skin and on regular use. Each Dr.Melaxin range focuses on one clear active, such as tranexamic acid for dark spots or calcium for firmness, which makes it easy to pick a product for your concern. Patch-test first if your skin is sensitive. Cosmetic advice, not medical advice.

What is Dr.Melaxin Peel Shot?

Peel Shot is the Dr.Melaxin exfoliating range. The white rice ampoule combines rice bran water, AHA, BHA and PHA acids and niacinamide to smooth texture. Try the Peel Shot Gommage White Rice Ampoule or the Peel Shot Gommage Black Rice Ampoule.

How do you use Dr.Melaxin Peel Shot?

Dr.Melaxin Peel Shot ampoules are exfoliators: apply to clean, dry skin, massage gently, then rinse. The brand suggests once or twice a week, building up slowly. Wear sunscreen the next day, and always follow the instructions on the product page.

Which Dr.Melaxin eye cream should you choose?

For under-eye bags, Dr.Melaxin offers the Eyephalt Retinol Eyebag Cream. For a plumper look, try the Cemenrete Calcium Eye Cream or the Calcium Bonding Eye Cream. For radiance, the Mela-CE Ferulic Eye Cream.

What's in the Dr.Melaxin Calcium Bonding range?

Calcium Bonding is the Dr.Melaxin calcium anti-aging range. It contains Rebornic, a patented ingredient that pairs calcium with vitamin D, at 10,000 ppm according to the brand. Start with the Calcium Bonding Serum and the Calcium Bonding Facial Cream.

Which Dr.Melaxin products help with dark spots?

For dark spots, Dr.Melaxin relies on tranexamic acid in its TX line: the TX Serum 2.0 and TX Cream 2.0 pair it with niacinamide. The Kojic Acid Turmeric and Mela-CE Ferulic ranges round out a brightening routine. Cosmetic advice, not medical advice.

Dr.Melaxin vs Medicube: which is better?

Dr.Melaxin and Medicube are two different Korean brands, so the best one depends on your goal. Dr.Melaxin builds each range around a specific ingredient: calcium for firmness, tranexamic acid for dark spots, rice and acids for Peel Shot exfoliation. To compare, browse our Medicube edit too.

What order should you use Dr.Melaxin products in?

With Dr.Melaxin, keep the classic order: cleanser, toner, serum, cream, then eye cream. For example the TX Serum Cleanser, Reju PDRN Collagen Toner, TX Serum 2.0 and TX Cream 2.0. Use the rinse-off Peel Shot Gommage ampoules separately, once or twice a week.

Does Dr.Melaxin have a formulation standard?

Yes. Dr.Melaxin follows an 8-FREE rule: according to the brand, its formulas leave out eight groups of ingredients, including mineral oil, phenoxyethanol, artificial colors and artificial fragrance. If your skin is sensitive, always check each product's ingredient list.

Cosmetic advice, not medical advice.

Who is Dr.Melaxin?

Dr.Melaxin is a Korean derma skincare brand. It belongs to Brand501 (주식회사 브랜드501), a company based in Seoul and led by CEO Yoo Kyung-hwa. The brand calls itself a skin-changing laboratory and says it takes its cue from vaccines, which protect people, to research practical solutions for aging skin. Its motto is slow aging: easing the signs of time rather than hiding them.

In a short time, Dr.Melaxin has become one of the most visible Korean brands on TikTok Shop in the US and the UK. It is also sold at Boots in the UK, at Ulta in the US and, since 2026, on the Tira platform in India.

Dr.Melaxin ranges and signature ingredients

Peel Shot is the best-known Dr.Melaxin range outside Korea. Its Gommage ampoules are rinse-off exfoliators to use once or twice a week: the white rice ampoule blends rice bran water, AHA, BHA and PHA acids and niacinamide, and there is also a black rice version. The range also includes serums, a toner and body sprays.

Calcium is the other Dr.Melaxin signature. The Calcium Bonding and Cemenrete ranges use Rebornic, the brand's own ingredient pairing calcium with vitamin D (patented, according to the brand). Calcium Bonding covers the whole face, while Cemenrete targets the eye area. For under-eye bags, Eyephalt offers dedicated creams.

For dark spots, the TX line relies on tranexamic acid with niacinamide, and TX Astaxanthin adds astaxanthin. Kojic Acid Turmeric and Mela-CE Ferulic complete the brightening side. Cactox, made with cactus, takes care of pores; S-Zinc, with zinc, of blemish-prone skin; Reju PDRN Collagen, Niacinamide Pico Tonic Shot and Cyano Pink Spicule of firmness and tone. Bondex is the hair care line.

How to choose for your skin type or concern

  • Dark spots and dullness: the TX, TX Astaxanthin, Kojic Acid Turmeric or Mela-CE Ferulic ranges.
  • Enlarged pores, combination to oily skin: the Cactox range, for example the Cactox Pore Relief Serum.
  • Blemish-prone skin: the S-Zinc range, with the S-Zinc Blemish Gel Cleanser.
  • Mature skin, loss of firmness: Calcium Bonding, Reju PDRN Collagen, or Cemenrete for the eyes.
  • Uneven texture: a Peel Shot Gommage ampoule once or twice a week, with sunscreen during the day.

If your skin is sensitive, add one new product at a time and give it a few weeks before judging the results. Cosmetic advice, not medical advice.

To compare with other Korean skincare, browse our serums, creams, exfoliators and eye care, or our mature skin and oily skin picks.

What makes Dr.Melaxin different

Dr.Melaxin doesn't bet on one hero product for everyone. Instead, it builds one range per skin concern: dark spots, pores, under-eye bags, loss of firmness and uneven texture. Each range centers on one clear ingredient, often printed in large type on the pack with its concentration. The brand also follows an 8-FREE rule: according to Dr.Melaxin, its formulas avoid eight groups of ingredients, including mineral oil, phenoxyethanol, artificial colors and artificial fragrance.

The textures are made for a multi-step Korean routine: cleansers, toners, pads, serums, creams, hydrogel masks and body care.
