EIOM: frequently asked questions

Is EIOM a good brand? EIOM reviews

EIOM is a Korean brand focused on the skin microbiome. In Korea it sells at Olive Young, on Musinsa and at Chicor, and it presents its Trouble patch masks as its signature products. To try it, start with the Trouble Biome Patch Mask or the Trouble Targeting Serum, two EIOM picks for blemish-prone skin.

Is EIOM a Korean brand?

Yes. EIOM (이옴) is a skincare brand from South Korea, run by the company NewSelect (뉴셀렉트). In Korea you'll find it at Olive Young, on Musinsa and at Chicor. Our full edit is in the EIOM collection.

What is microbiome skincare?

Your skin microbiome is the community of microorganisms living on your skin. Microbiome skincare tries to keep that balance instead of stripping the skin. At EIOM, that means lactobacillus ferments in most of its formulas, paired with actives such as niacinamide, panthenol or centella.

Which EIOM product is best for pimples?

For a single spot, EIOM makes the Pore Shot 200 Pimple Patch. For blemish-prone skin day to day, use the Trouble Control Pad then the Trouble Targeting Serum, and apply the Trouble Biome Patch Mask once or twice a week. See also our picks for acne-prone skin.

EIOM Trouble Targeting Serum vs Trouble Biome Clearing Serum: which one?

Both EIOM serums target blemish-prone skin. The Trouble Targeting Serum is a gel with tea tree ferment, niacinamide and zinc PCA, a good match for oily skin. The Trouble Biome Clearing Serum is more fluid and relies on niacinamide and centella for small, recurring bumps on combination skin.

How do you use EIOM Pore Shot 200 patches?

On clean, fully dry skin, place an EIOM Pore Shot 200 Pimple Patch on the spot and press lightly. Its 200 micro-tips dissolve into the area. Leave it on for a few hours or overnight, then peel it off. Each patch is single use.

How do you use the EIOM Trouble Patch Mask?

After cleansing, peel the film from one side of the EIOM Trouble Patch Mask, place it on your face, then remove the second film. Leave it on for about 40 minutes, until dry, then take it off and follow with your pad and serum. The Trouble Biome Patch Mask works the same way.

Is EIOM Pantheome good for sensitive skin?

That's what it's for: EIOM presents Pantheome as its range for sensitive skin and the skin barrier. The Pantheome Shake Bubble Serum hydrates as a light foam, and the Pantheome Barrier Fitting Balm comforts with panthenol, ectoin and centella. Patch test first if your skin reacts easily.

What is EIOM Botide NAD+?

Botide is a complex developed by EIOM that pairs peptides with low-molecular collagen. The Botide range sometimes adds NAD, a molecule found in our cells. These products help skin and lips look visibly plumper: Botide NAD+ Plumping Jelly Mask, Botide Plumping Hydrogel Eye Patch and Botide NAD+ Plumping Lip Serum.

What's a good EIOM routine for oily skin?

Morning and night: Mild Jelly Cleanser or your usual cleanser, Trouble Control Pad, Trouble Targeting Serum, then a light moisturizer. Once or twice a week, add the Trouble Red Shot 20 Cleaner or an EIOM patch mask, but not both on the same day. See also our oily skin picks.

Who is EIOM? Korean skincare built on the microbiome

EIOM (이옴 in Korean) is a South Korean skincare brand run by the company NewSelect (뉴셀렉트). It describes itself as a "microbiome derma solution that restores skin balance": derma skincare built around the skin microbiome, the community of microorganisms that live on the surface of your skin. Its starting point fits in one word: balance.

In Korea, EIOM sells at Olive Young and on Musinsa, and since August 2026 in Chicor stores and online, the beauty chain of the Shinsegae group. The brand also sells outside Korea, including on Amazon and on Qoo10 in Japan. At Ma Petite Coree, it arrives with its four ranges: Trouble, Pantheome, Botide and Zero Sugar.

EIOM ranges and signature ingredients

Trouble is EIOM's flagship range, made for oily, blemish-prone skin. It's built on Tea Tree Biome, based on tea tree, and Control Bio 95, two ingredients developed by the brand. You'll find patch masks that dry on the skin while they lift oil, two serums, toner pads, a toner, a wash-off exfoliator, a cleansing mask and a body wash for your back and chest. The Mild Jelly Cleanser and the Pore Shot 200 Pimple Patch round out the routine.

  • Pantheome: the hydration and skin barrier range for sensitive skin, with panthenol, ectoin and centella: a foaming serum, a balm and a cream sheet mask.
  • Botide: EIOM's plumping care, first launched for North America in 2026. Botide is the brand's own complex of peptides and low-molecular collagen, and some products add NAD. At Ma Petite Coree: a lip serum, a jelly mask and eye patches.
  • Zero Sugar: the radiance range, built around anti-glycation and Zero Sugar Biome, a carnosine-based ingredient developed by EIOM: a peel-off mask and a jelly serum that doubles as a quick mask.

How to choose your EIOM product for your skin

Several Trouble products contain acids, so don't stack the Red Shot, the Yogo Pack and other exfoliators on the same day. Cosmetic advice, not medical advice: if in doubt, patch test a new product on a small area first.

To compare with other Korean skincare, browse our serums, masks, cleansers, toners and exfoliators, or our picks for acne-prone skin, oily skin and sensitive skin. If EIOM's approach speaks to you, also check out COSRX, SOME BY MI, CELIMAX, DR.G, AESTURA and TORRIDEN.

What makes EIOM skincare different

Plenty of products for blemish-prone skin rely on one strong active to fight one problem. EIOM starts from another idea: according to the brand, recurring breakouts, excess oil or tight, uncomfortable skin often come from a skin ecosystem that has lost its balance. Rather than only chasing today's issue, it aims to bring your skin back into balance over time.

In practice, most of its formulas contain lactobacillus ferments, the brand's key ingredient, paired with well-known actives: niacinamide, panthenol, salicylic acid (BHA), centella asiatica or zinc PCA. EIOM has also developed its own complexes, which it prints on its packaging: Tea Tree Biome and Control Bio 95 for the Trouble range, Botide for plumping care and Zero Sugar Biome for radiance. The textures are made to feel good every day: watery gels, foams, jellies and masks that hug the face.

EIOM essentials at Ma Petite Coree

EIOM is new at Ma Petite Coree, so here's where to start. The brand presents its patch masks as its signature products. The Trouble Biome Patch Mask, made with Tea Tree Biome, goes on like a sheet mask and dries in about 40 minutes, lifting oil and impurities as it does. The Trouble Patch Mask, made of bio-cellulose, works the same way: the brand calls it "home scaling", a pore clean-up you do at home.

For every day, pair the Trouble Control Pad, soaked in salicylic acid and gluconolactone, with the Trouble Targeting Serum, a gel serum with niacinamide and zinc PCA. Keep the Pore Shot 200 Pimple Patch handy for a single spot: each patch carries 200 micro-tips that dissolve into the area. Once or twice a week, the Trouble Red Shot 20 Cleaner exfoliates in 30 seconds before you rinse. On the new side, the Botide range grew in September 2026 with the Botide NAD+ Plumping Lip Serum, and the Botide NAD+ Plumping Jelly Mask is a jelly mask with NAD and peptides.
