Frosted glass bottles, simple labels, golden or blue oils and a purple essence toner: urang is the small Korean brand that prefers plants and essential oils to complicated formulas. Behind it, there is no big group, but an aromatherapist who started by making skincare for her own family.

The story of URANG
URANG is first the story of Jina Lee (이진아). She is an aromatherapist and, as the Korean press tells it, she had long been making her own skincare, with her own recipes, for herself and her family. She was looking for cosmetics she could use with complete confidence, with organic ingredients, and couldn’t find them. So she ended up making them herself.
The brand launched in December 2016. In Korea, it is written 유랑 (Yurang). Its oil serums are made with her own blends: Marie Claire Korea magazine highlights them as the brand’s signature products, and the Korean trade media Cosinkorea named it a “Power Brand” 2019 in the oil serum category.
Since then, URANG has expanded its range: ampoules, creams, mists, cleansers and handmade soaps. In 2023, its Prestige Purple Shield essence toner was featured by Harper’s Bazaar Korea. As of mid-October 2026, we carry about twenty URANG products, from facial oils to handmade soaps.
The URANG philosophy: organic, essential oils and simplicity
The name URANG comes from a simple idea: “you and me, we use it together”, as the Korean press explains. Internationally, the brand also pairs it with the phrase Ultimate Radiance And Natural Glow. Either way, the message is the same: skincare that the whole family can use with peace of mind.
- An organic and natural base: URANG uses organic and naturally derived ingredients as the base of all its products. For several of them, it states 99.9% naturally derived ingredients.
- Aromatherapy at the heart of the formulas: instead of adding lots of synthetic ingredients, the brand relies on its own essential oil blends, its founder’s know-how.
- Korean ingredients: URANG likes to work with plants grown in Korea, like the organic doraji flower (balloon flower) in its essence toner.
- Respect for the planet: recyclable glass bottles, more eco-friendly packaging and no ingredients tested on animals.
Featured by Harper’s Bazaar Korea in 2023: an essence toner that does the work of two steps in one. It contains organic doraji flower extract and pea protein, in a recyclable glass bottle. It has received the COSMOS Organic label: a good starting point to discover the brand.

Rose, the brand’s favorite flower
Rose is everywhere at URANG. The True Rose Repair essence combines rose essential oil and organic rose floral water (45.6% according to the bottle). The Rose Ceramide cream adds ceramides to help skin stay comfortable, and the Organic Rose Mist is made with 100% organic rose water.
Plant and essential oils, the original know-how
The oil serums are the foundation of the brand. The Vitamin Oil Serum blends rosehip oil with rose, lavender, myrrh and frankincense essential oils. The Glow Oil Serum relies on calendula oil and German chamomile. A few drops are enough for supple, radiant skin.
Doraji flower, the Korean ingredient
Doraji (도라지, the balloon flower) is a very common plant in Korea. URANG uses its organic flowers, extracted three times using its own method, in the Prestige Purple Shield essence toner. It is valued for its antioxidant side.
Chamomile and bisabolol, to soothe
German chamomile and alpha-bisabolol (a molecule found in chamomile) are valued for their soothing effect. You’ll find them in the Brightening Blue Oil Serum, the brand’s blue oil serum, designed for a more radiant complexion.
Yuja, for radiance
Yuja is a citrus fruit grown in Korea. The Yuja Vita ampoule combines organic yuja water, yuja essential oil and alpha-bisabolol for dull complexions that need a boost of radiance.
Cactus and tamanu, for comfort
The Cactus Oasis cream blends organic cactus extract, squalane and ceramides for light hydration. The S.O.S. Multi Balm, for its part, relies on tamanu oil: a small all-purpose pot for very dry areas, cuticles and heels.

Dry, tight skin
A rose mist on clean skin, then a rich ceramide cream. If your skin still feels tight, add the Pink Everlasting ampoule, with organic immortelle floral water, before the cream.
Dull complexion, tired skin
The yuja ampoule in the morning, under your sunscreen. In the evening, two or three drops of oil serum to wake up your glow.
Sensitive skin that heats up
A light cactus cream, a gentle mist to keep with you, and a balm for areas that feel tight. Few products, but the right ones.
Combination skin, want a clearer look
A gentle double cleanse, oil then foam, and the blue mask once or twice a week for clearer-looking skin.
URANG products are cosmetics: they help hydrate, soothe and even out the appearance of the skin, but do not replace medical advice. Essential oils are natural, but they can irritate very reactive skin. If you have eczema or redness that doesn’t go away, if you are pregnant or if you want to use it on a child, ask a dermatologist or your doctor for advice before you start.

Our tips for using URANG well
- One new product at a time: wait one to two weeks before adding another, and test it first on a small area, for example behind your ear. This matters even more with essential oils.
- Oils mean two or three drops: warm them between your palms and press them onto your face, rather than rubbing. You can also mix a drop into your cream.
- Oil serum at the end of the routine: apply it after light textures (toner, ampoule) and before or mixed into your cream.
- The blue mask, once or twice a week: a thin layer on clean skin, then rinse well. Avoid it on irritated skin.
- Handmade soaps love air: put your soap on a draining soap dish, so it dries between uses and lasts longer.
- Protect your bottles: formulas based on oils and natural extracts don’t like heat or sun. Store them away from light and close them tightly.
In Korea, many girls keep a face mist on their desk during winter, when the heating dries the air: a veil on the face, then a drop of oil serum pressed on top to stay comfortable. And in the evening, a gesture we love: a drop of oil mixed into the cream, applied with a gentle massage, to end the day breathing in the essential oils.
