If you’re 20 today, MAMONDE is more likely the pink bottle of the Rose Liquid Mask and brightly colored packaging. Between the two, the same idea: take the best of what flowers have to offer and turn it into easy-to-use skincare.

MAMONDE, a Korean brand born in 1991: its story
MAMONDE was launched in 1991 by Amorepacific, one of the major Korean cosmetics groups. Its name is a nod to French: “ma” + “monde”, meaning “my world” (yes, in proper French it would be “mon monde”, but it’s exactly that little twist that makes the name easy to remember in Korea).
From its launch, the brand had a bold message for the time: “My life belongs to me”. Its first face was actress Lee Young-ae, and its 1990s ads talked about independent women who decide their own lives. One line sums up that tone: “Marriage is not a goal”.
From the 2000s, MAMONDE turned to what would become its signature: research on flowers. Rose, camellia, then other flowers became the heart of its skincare. Its Rose Water Toner, a toner made with Damask rose water, became one of the brand’s classics.
The big turning point came in October 2023: MAMONDE completely reinvented itself. A new symbol, packaging with round shapes and bright colors, marble-effect caps, and a new technology, Hyper Flora™. Singer Winter, from the group aespa, became the face of this new MAMONDE, designed for 20- to 30-year-olds.
Since then, the brand has released one new product after another around its Rose Liquid Mask: Flora Glow Rose masks in October 2025, then two new liquid masks in February 2026, with peony and daisy. In May 2026, MAMONDE arrived in the United States in Amazon’s Premium Beauty selection. And in 2026, the brand celebrates its 35th anniversary.

Damask rose, the historic flower
It’s the flower most closely linked to MAMONDE. The Flora Glow Rose Water Toner contains about 90% Damask rose water, which replaces almost all the water in the formula. In the Rose Liquid Mask, the brand combines a rose peptide with 10% PHA, a gentle exfoliant, for smoother skin and a more radiant complexion.
Azulene, the blue that soothes
Azulene gives the Calming Shot line its blue color. It’s an active known for its soothing effect, which MAMONDE combines with niacinamide. Ideal when your skin feels heated or shows small, temporary redness: start with the Calming Shot Azulene Trace Moisture Ampoule.
Bakuchiol, for skin texture

Our tips for using MAMONDE well
- The Rose Liquid Mask is a treatment, not a mask to leave on for 20 minutes: a thin layer after cleansing (or after your toner), let it dry for a few seconds and continue your routine.
- Go gradually with PHA: it’s a gentle exfoliant, but if your skin is reactive, start every other day, and don’t pile up several exfoliating products on the same night.
- Always sunscreen in the morning, as soon as you use exfoliating products or radiance actives.
- Just one line to start: choose the color that matches your main need (pink, blue, purple…) rather than mixing everything from the start.
- Modeling masks, prepare them right away: mix the two included sachets with the spatula, spread a thick layer and peel off the mask in one piece.
- One new product at a time, tested first on a small area (behind the ear or on the neck), to know what really suits your skin.
MAMONDE products are cosmetics: they help hydrate, soothe and add radiance, but don’t replace medical advice. If your skin reacts (lasting redness, itching, unusual breakouts) or if you have a persistent skin problem, ask a dermatologist for advice.
Our trick: in summer, keep your Calming Shot toner in the fridge and soak two cotton pads that you place on your cheeks for a few minutes. After a hot, humid day in Seoul, it’s our little cooling ritual, and it preps the skin well for the rest of the routine.
