What is the 12-step Korean routine?
It's the full sequence of Korean skincare, from the lightest to the richest: oil cleanser, foam cleanser, exfoliator, toner, essence, serum, sheet mask, eye care, emulsion, cream, sunscreen in the morning and a sleeping mask at night.
Do I need to do all 12 steps every day?
No. The basics are the double cleanse in the evening, a toner, a cream and sunscreen in the morning. Exfoliators and masks are once or twice a week, and the rest is added depending on your skin's needs.
What is double cleansing?
Two cleansers in a row, in the evening: an oil or balm to dissolve makeup and sunscreen, then a water-based foam cleanser to gently wash the skin.
What's the difference between essence, serum and ampoule?
Essence is very fluid and preps the skin after toner. Serum is more concentrated in actives and targets a specific need (radiance, hydration, blemishes). Ampoule is the most concentrated version, often used as a course.
How do I choose my skincare for my skin type?
We've grouped our skincare by need: dry skin, oily skin, combination skin, sensitive skin, acne-prone skin and mature skin.
