SUELO: the Korean brand behind Volcano body care and plant-based PDRN

If you searched for “SUELO”, you may have come across its body cream in a tube with a massaging tip, or its face care with PDRN, the ingredient getting a lot of attention in Korea. SUELO is a young K-beauty brand that grew through live online selling, before going abroad.

In this guide, we tell you where it comes from, what its products really contain, how to find your way around its lines and above all what to choose for your needs: face, body or neck. No miracle promises: a cream is still a cream, and we explain what it can do.

SUELO: the story of the brand

SUELO is the story of its founder, Gong Min-ji. In her interviews with the Korean press, she explains that she started from her own experience: sensitive skin that she struggled for a long time to soothe day to day, and the desire to create products that really help skin regain its balance.

The brand’s first product was a body cream from the Volcano line, featured in the press as early as February 2020, to massage onto the thighs, stomach or arms. The SUELO company was officially created in 2021. To get started, the founder relied on live selling (live commerce): she presented her products herself on video, almost every day.

The brand then went abroad. According to articles about the founder, SUELO sells in Japan, China, Taiwan, Vietnam and Russia, often through live sales on social media. In August 2026, the Korean press (Etnews) described it as present in around twenty countries.

More recently, SUELO turned to PDRN, an ingredient very present in Korean skincare, by working on a plant-based PDRN, notably from houttuynia (어성초), a plant well known in Korea. A way to offer an alternative to classic PDRN, which most often comes from salmon.

The SUELO philosophy: “skin is like soil”

The brand’s name comes from the Spanish “suelo”, which means soil, earth. Its founder sums up her idea like this: skin is like soil; if the base is solid, it becomes more resilient. On its website, the brand chose a short motto: “Clean in source. Calm in science.”, carefully chosen ingredients and formulas designed to stay gentle. In practice, that means three things:

• Basics first: cleanse gently, moisturize, protect from the sun, before looking for more technical products.
• Light textures: the brand says it favors gentle formulas to limit irritation.
• The body counts too: a large part of its range is made for the body and neck, areas often forgotten in routines.

Here are the ingredients and textures to know, with what they can do… and what they don’t do.

Volcano Body: caffeine and massage

The Volcano line brings together the brand’s body care. The Volcano Body PPC Cream combines caffeine and phosphatidylcholine (the product sheet also lists a chili pepper extract, for the warming effect), the “PPC” in its name. Massage it in vigorously, from bottom to top, on the areas you want to pamper. The real plus is the massage: it makes skin softer and nicer to the touch. However, no cream makes you lose weight or makes cellulite disappear. It also comes in a large size, the Volcano Body Cream 500ml.

PDRN: the Reju Calming line

PDRN is a DNA fragment widely used in Korean skincare to hydrate and soothe. SUELO’s Reju Calming line includes a cream, the Reju Calming PDRN Cream, which also contains ceramides and amino acids for skin comfort, and a foaming toner, the Reju Calming PDRN Bubble Toner. In cosmetics, PDRN helps skin stay supple and comfortable: it’s not the equivalent of injections done in a clinic.

Sun care: PDRN Pore Glow Sun Serum

The PDRN Pore Glow Sun Serum is a sunscreen with a serum texture and a radiant finish. It’s the most useful step in any routine: skin protected from the sun stays beautiful longer.

Neck and décolleté

SUELO also thinks about the neck, an often forgotten area: the Neck Collagen Patch is a collagen patch to place on the neck, and the 2X Double Up Body Mist is a mist to spray on the neck and décolleté to hydrate them.

Our tips for using SUELO well

• Wash your hands after the Volcano cream: the cream has a warming effect; avoid the eyes, mucous membranes and irritated or freshly shaved skin.
• The massage makes the difference: a few minutes of massage from bottom to top make skin softer and the moment more pleasant.
• Don’t exfoliate every day: once or twice a week is enough for soft skin without irritating it.
• Think about your neck: extend your face cream and sunscreen down to your neck and décolleté.
• Be patient and realistic: a body cream helps skin be softer and more hydrated; for your figure, nothing replaces sleep, movement and a balanced diet.
