AHC was born behind the scenes of Korean beauty. Behind the brand is the company Carver Korea, founded in 1999 in Seoul. At first, it supplied professional products to beauty salons and treatment rooms. Hence the brand’s name: AHC, for Aesthetic Hydration Cosmetics, hydrating cosmetics inspired by aesthetic care.
The big turning point came with the Real Eye Cream for Face, an eye cream you apply to your whole face. According to the Korea JoongAng Daily, it was the eye cream that sold the most in Korea in 2016. The brand itself took off mainly thanks to TV shopping, again according to the JoongAng Daily.
This success caught the eye of global giants: in September 2017, Unilever announced the purchase of Carver Korea for €2.27 billion, “the biggest acquisition in the history of Korean beauty” according to the Korea JoongAng Daily. Our tips for using AHC well
- The eye cream, on your face too: that’s AHC’s idea. Start with the eye area using the tip, then spread the rest over your cheekbones and forehead, where skin shows lines the most.
- One Pro Shot line at a time: red, blue or white, choose the color that matches your main need and stick with it for several weeks.
- Essence in layers: pour it into the palm of your hand and pat it in. Two layers on days when your skin is thirsty.
- SPF every morning: AHC has a very complete sun range. Apply a generous amount and reapply the stick during the day.
- One new product at a time: wait one to two weeks before adding another, and test it on a small area first.
