RM, the leader of BTS as a solo artist
RM (Kim Namjoon) is a South Korean rapper, songwriter and producer, and the leader of BTS. As a solo artist he released his first mixtape, RM, on March 17, 2015, then mono. in 2018, followed by two studio albums on BigHit Music: Indigo (2022) and Right Place, Wrong Person (2024). His very personal lyrics draw on hip-hop as much as on art.
At Ma Petite Corée the RM collection is small and to the point: you will find the solo RM albums from our catalogue, such as Right Place, Wrong Person. They are official albums, bought in Korea and shipped from our Seoul office.
RM discography
It all started with two mixtapes: RM (2015) and mono. (2018). His first studio album, Indigo, came out on December 2, 2022: ten tracks, including “Wild Flower” with youjeen, and guests such as Erykah Badu, Anderson .Paak and Tablo. The second, Right Place, Wrong Person, was released on May 24, 2024: eleven tracks between hip-hop, jazz and alternative rock, with “LOST!” as the title track, “Come Back to Me” unveiled two weeks earlier, and Little Simz and Moses Sumney among the guests. On May 2, 2025, RM teamed up with Tablo again for the single “Stop The Rain”.
RM and BTS
RM is the leader of BTS, the seven-member group that debuted on June 13, 2013 under BigHit Music. He writes a large part of the group's lyrics. On March 20, 2026, BTS returned with the album ARIRANG and the single “SWIM”, followed by a world tour that kicked off in April 2026. The group's albums, lightstick and merch are in the BTS collection. For concert dates, take a look at our Kpop Calendar.
RM and art
A keen art lover, RM has been collecting works by Korean artists for years. Part of his collection is on show at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art in the exhibition RM x SFMOMA: Between You and Me, from October 3, 2026 to February 7, 2027. That love of painting runs through his albums too: Indigo opens with “Yun”, a tribute to the painter Yun Hyong-keun.
