INNISFREE : JEJU CHERRY BLOSSOM JELLY CREAM
It is still spring at Ma Petite Corée with the Jeju Cherry Blossom Jelly Cream by INNISFREE. I tested it for two months and I absolutely love this day cream! I am going to present it to you and give all its positive and negative points, but I promise there are very few!
JEJU CHERRY BLOSSOM JELLY CREAM VS TONE-UP CREAM
The Jeju Cherry Blossom collection was released in 2019 with a lotion, a toner, and two creams. The latter have many notable differences. The TONE-UP cream is more for dull skin and brings a certain brightness to the face. It is perfect for already fair and non-matte skin, or black skin because the “tone-up” effect is immediate. Its texture is a true cream texture and it also provides hydration to the skin. If you are interested, you can get it here.
So it is its gel variant that I tested! Its main function is to provide the missing hydration to healthy skin. As a reminder, dehydrated skin is a condition and not a type, so it can affect everyone. The skin then lacks suppleness, with occasional sensations of tingling or tightness. Sometimes, small dehydration fine lines appear at the corners of the eyes.
THE JELLY CREAM
When you open the jar, an ultra-fresh and spring-like scent rises to your nostrils. Note that the scent is less strong once the cream is applied; it is very present because it is concentrated in the jar! Regarding the texture, the gel has always held me back a bit because I am always afraid it will not penetrate the skin immediately and will take time to dry. Or also that you end up with a wet-looking face that lasts.
In the morning before work, everything is a matter of timing, so if I have to wait for my cream to be well absorbed, it won’t work! So is that the case? Well, fortunately not! The gel penetrates the skin quite quickly and leaves no sticky residue on the face. We make sure to apply the cream well by massaging upwards on the face and outwards.
For my part, I only apply it in the morning since in the evening I use a lotion from the INNISFREE brand as well (you can read or reread my review on this subject!). My face regains more color from the first application and over the days, it has become much more supple. Also, with wearing a mask on public transport, and sometimes in public places, the skin no longer breathes properly. The Jeju Cherry Blossom Jelly Cream helps the skin cope well.
THE NEGATIVE POINT FROM INNISFREE
This negative point does not only affect the Jeju Cherry Blossom Jelly Cream but most of the brand’s skincare. The fragrance content is very high. The application Hwahae discourages it for young people under 20 years old. We also discourage it for the most sensitive skin, indeed products with too high fragrance content will degrade the skin more than improve it. Apart from this point, we notice that the quality of the cream is excellent! Personally, the fragrance content does not bring me any bad surprises but be careful all the same!
